I remember going to see this movie when it released, but I don't recall anything about it…

Not sure if you’re in the U.K. but it’s on something called Pluto TV here. Not sure about the US. I actually had a copy on dvd that I used for this!

Ok. I have access to Pluto. I was actually also going to rewatch Masters of the Universe with Dolph Lundgren (one of the worst movies ever), so maybe I'll do a double feature...

That’s a great double feature right there! 😅 you should do it.

I am so intrigued by a movie that leaves the audience with more questions than answers. Also, please tell me there is “Battle of the Tough Guys” merch out in the world.

You know, I’ve no idea about merch but I’m about to go searching 😅

I haven’t watched No Holds Barred since the video shop rental days, but this makes me want to revisit.

It’s really funny how so much of Hulk Hogan’s personal branding as The Biggest Wrestling Star of All Time is tied into his crossover “success” as a movie star, to the point he was known as “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan for a long time. I could see his case only growing weaker in future generations as more wrestlers continue to utterly eclipse him in acting prowess. The Rock is a more bankable movie star, then you have subsequent talents like John Cena and Dave Bautista who have shown another level of legit acting talent.

Agreed. I couldn’t help but wonder who I’d want to see cast in a remake of this too. Who would you pick from today’s wrestling world to be the one to scare a henchman into crying the word ‘DOOKIE’ out of fear?

I don't know if he'd count as being from today's wrestling world as he's semi-retired from wrestling and focused mostly on acting now, but I think John Cena would be a good Rip, because he would see material like this and use his comedy chops to absolutely lean into the absurdity of it rather than trying to take it remotely seriously.

I’d be in the cinema day one for a John Cena-led remake of this.

Wait Rip Torn said “dookie”? He’s like a slang luminary for Gen alpha. Who knew?

Bathtub in the bedroom is like adulting dreams for me. Not there yet.

Joan Severance I always confuse with Sela Ward from “Sisters”

He did, but the other guy played by Geoff McKnight said it first. He’s even referred to as ‘Dukey’ in the cast… 🤦😅
